The Challenge
In November of 2023, a global engineering firm identified a need to upgrade one of their key engineering and Architectural software stacks, but lacked the visibility into what they owned, how it was deployed and the server workloads it consumed, meaning the cost of the new technology investment was difficult to ascertain, and exceeded their budget.
The Approach
Utilising a combination of PEC’s unique ITAM Consulting, Technology Strategy and Contract Negotiations Services; we baselined the organisations license entitlements, deployments, usage and server workloads providing a single pane of glass report for their existing technology investment. PEC also designed a global fail-safe architecture which gained better utilization of the existing software stack, while enabling the ability to easily identify and reduce the cost of the new technology investment, software renewal and ongoing server costs.
